Meet Shaun Maguire, the face of genocide support at Sequoia Capital

Introducing Shaun Maguire, a pro-genocide founder and venture capitalist at Sequioa Capital.

Known in Silicon Valley for his abrasive personality, Shaun has emerged as a particularly xenophobic voice over the past several weeks having self-declared personal ties to the Israeli military through his wife’s family.

When he’s not parroting IDF propaganda, Shaun uses his platform to post conspiracy theories, incite hate against Palestinians, silence legitimate criticism of Israel and shouts-down calls for a ceasefire. He’s not ignorant of the tone or impact of his language as he’s deleted a number of posts over the past several weeks.

Shaun has regularly amplified statements that point to his complete disregard for human rights and international law and has regularly demonized Palestinians and their supporters.

He has endorsed McCarthyist calls to silence criticism on campus and attacked activists and students calling for a ceasefire and an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. This is despite the numerous large protests organized and carried out by Jewish groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace and If Not Now.

Despite the mounting civilian deaths, now over 10,000, he continues to either downplay them, or dismiss them outright as some sort of contrived concoction. His lack of empathy and disregard for human life seemingly stemming from a very dark place.

We're hopeful that when Patrick Collison, the CEO and co-founder of payments startup Stripe, made his hiring recommendation, that he was unaware of Shaun's anti-human rights proclivities.

We call on Sequoia to condemn Shaun’s rhetoric and to immediately terminate his employment. We call on the venture capital community to unite in the name of humanity, and unconditionally end their support of the ongoing genocide perpetrated by Israel and its government.
